Campfires, logs and hanging kayaks – that’s the atmosphere you’ll feel when you walk through the doors of the Downtown Camper. The hotel is part of the local Scandic chain. We had read that their establishments were recommended for family trips. We confirm ! The Downtown Camper was the perfect base for visiting the city for a few days. <\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=”smalltext”]<\/p>\n

So here we are in our socks, trying to jump and discovering that the rope actually hurts our feet. It’s much more suitable for reading a book or taking an impromptu nap. We could do that, but we’ve got a room to discover and a city to visit.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Where do we sleep?<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”15px”][vc_column_text]Our room is almost like a small flat. First we go through the changing room (very practical when you’re visiting the city in winter and you need 10 minutes to get everyone undressed), then we see a nice table for playing\/eating\/putting your things down, a very large bathroom, a lounge and a separate bedroom. The sofa will later be converted into a bed, giving you two bedrooms for the night. Our room overlooks the city. In the morning, a huge buffet is laid out on different tables. The chefs are busy in the kitchen serving up hot dishes. On the tables, there’s a wide variety of everything: various juices, different types of bread, dried fruit, seeds, all sorts of yoghurts, pancakes and waffles (which you can make yourself, that’s always fun!), cheese and cold meats, and so on… Enough to fill you up before a day in the city.<\/p>\n

In the evening, we tried the pasta with tomato sauce for the girls and the street food for us. A real treat![\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”1570″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” qode_css_animation=””][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]What do we do?<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”15px”][vc_column_text]In the hotel, you can have a yoga session or sit in the coworking area. But the best part is discovering Stockholm! Walk past the Spotify offices (opposite the hotel), eat in a caf\u00e9 (we always found high chairs), stroke a Moomin cuddly toy in a games shop, take in the view over the water, see where the Nobel prizes are awarded, …[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”1576″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” qode_css_animation=””][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Finding a nice family room is quite difficult. The solution for families is often connecting rooms, which double the bill. And conventional bedrooms don’t have the space to settle down in the evening after walking around all day, or a separate bedroom where parents can spend an evening while the children sleep. And that’s the strength of the Downtown Camper. It was a great base for visiting Stockholm.
